My Legacy changes on 4 January 2027
From 4 January 2027, the Government's My Legacy service will no longer store personal information, funeral plans or will records entered by users. These records will be deleted permanently.
What will be deleted
- Personal information: details of important documents, financial accounts, bills and payments, properties, vehicles and digital accounts.
- Funeral plans: the funeral wishes and arrangements you entered.
- Will records: details of where your will is kept.
Once these records are deleted, neither you nor your Trusted Persons can retrieve them.
What stays
Your Advance Care Plan, CPF nomination and Lasting Power of Attorney are not affected. They stay on My Legacy, and your Trusted Persons keep their access to them.
What to do before 4 January 2027
- Log in to your My Legacy dashboard and download the records you want to keep.
- Decide where to keep them and who should have a copy.
- If you recorded where your will is kept, deposit your will record with the Singapore Academy of Law Wills Registry. Fees apply. My Legacy plans to show will details from this registry in future.
If you no longer need the records, you do not need to do anything. They will be deleted automatically on 4 January 2027.
If you are a Trusted Person
You will lose access to these records on 4 January 2027. If you still need them, ask the person who shared them with you.
Check your plan
If the only record of your will or your accounts was on My Legacy, check now that your family would know where to find them.
